Scorpions US Tour plans update - Extensive US Tour planned for 2011
I've just learned through The Scorpions US management contact, that this year the band will only be playing a few select US tour dates and that a full US and Canadian tour in support of the new 'Sting In The Tail' album, will not take place until 2011. The reasons behind this, are not 100% clear at this time, I would only hazard a guess that some deal on exclusive festival rights may have come into play, but then you kind of wonder why, 2 other US dates and 1 Canadian date are also taking place? As of right now, the band is confirmed in the USA to play and headline, 2 major festivals 'M3 Rock Festival' in Maryland on Saturday June 19th - Details here: http://www.myspace.com/m3rockfestival - and 'Summerfest 2010' in Milwaukee on July 2nd - Details here: http://www.summerfest.com/flash/#.
Currently aside from these 2 events, Pollstar is showing the band playing PNC Bank Arts Center, Holmdel, NJ on the 18th June (Warm up gig?) and 2 other shows inbetween both festivals:
