More tributes to Ronnie James Dio

(Ronnie James Dio a nice memory with a smile - At the movies supporting his friend Jack Black)

Ritchie Blackmore, who started Rainbow after Deep Purple alongside Ronnie, had this to say through his site:
"Ronnie had a unique and wonderful voice. He will be sadly missed in the rock and roll world."- Ritchie Blackmore - http://www.blackmoresnight.com/index2.htm

It seems even Ozzy Osbourne has added to paying tribute to Ronnie, Ozzy had this to say:
“I was very saddened to hear of the passing of Ronnie James Dio. Metal has truly lost one of its greatest voices.
“My heart goes out to his family and to his many fans. Love and respect.”
Posted at Classic Rock Magazine here, along with many more name tributes:

Geezer Butler who had remained close with Ronnie James Dio in Heaven & Hell had simply said this of his former band mate on the day he passed:
"GOODBYE MY DEAR FRIEND." He then added a further statement on Ronnie on Tuesday 18th May which goes into a lot of detail, on the last days of Ronnie, which must have been incredibly hard to address.
It's really moving I must say. You can read it here:

Likewise Tony Iommi who stuck with Ronnie and Geezer in Heaven & Hell had this to say:
"Yesterday, 16th May, my dear, dear friend Ronnie James Dio passed away at 7.45 a.m. L.A. time. I've been in total shock; I just can't believe he's gone.
"Ronnie was one of the nicest people you could ever meet. We had some fantastic times together. Ronnie loved what he did, making music and performing onstage. He loved his fans so much. He was a kind man and would put himself out to help others.
"I can honestly say it's truly been an honor to play at his side for all these years. His music will live on forever.
"Our thoughts are with [Dio's wife/manager] Wendy Dio, who stood by Ronnie until the end. He loved her very much. The man with the magic voice is a star amongst stars, a true professional.
"I'll miss you so much, my dear friend."

It's still very much of a shock to many, but this was an interesting piece to come from everything being mentioned.
Van Halen's News Desk site added a surprise in just making public this early footage of Van Halen playing, possibly Ronnie's best know Rainbow song 'Man on the Silver Mountain."

I'm sure the tributes will continue to pour in.

Asia YouTube Channel Ahead!

Tuesday, 18 May 2010
Asia is considering creating its own YouTube pages. We invite any audience members to submit YouTube selections of Asia which will be uploaded to our new pages subject to approval.

The band ask all of you to be reasonable, please, and take into account the comfort and enjoyment of your fellow audience members when taking your films. The band does not want to see whole concerts filmed, nor TV or bulky cameras spoiling the view of your neighbours. We extend this invitation to those of you who record to your phone or iPod the occasional short segment of your favourite track.

If the band believes that concert goers are being disturbed by over enthusiastic YouTubers, the YouTube pages will be withdrawn and we will return to our previous position.

Video may be submitted via email and should be less than two minutes in length.
