Rock News Update for Wednesday March 7th, 2012

Europe Announces UK Tour in support of new album

Academy Events and the DHP in association with The Agency Group are pleased to announce Europe’s Bag of Bones UK Tour 2012. Hot off the heels of last year’s Balls N’ Banners UK Tour and sold out concert at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire (where they filmed their recent live DVD), Sweden’s biggest hard rock band undertakes a nationwide UK tour in November 2012.
An exclusive 48-Hour Ticket Pre-sale for Europe fans will happen on Wednesday 7th March at 9am via www.planetrock.com. Tickets will then go on sale to the general public on Friday 9th March at 9am via www.ticketweb.co.uk and www.eventim.co.uk. All tickets are priced £18.50, with the exception of London (£20).

The UK tour dovetails the recent announcement of Europe’s new single Not Supposed To Sing The Blues, released digitally by iTunes throughout the UK and Europe on Friday March 9th, followed by their 9th studio album, Bag of Bones, released in the UK on Monday 30th April.

Last year, Classic Rock Magazine rated Europe’s previous album, Last Look At Eden, as one of the best hard rock albums of 2009, citing them as - "One of the few bands around still making consistently thrilling rock records.”

Metal Hammer praised Europe for their outstanding concerts - “Europe’s live show pulls together all ages, and tastes for a feel-good finale that smells like total victory.”

Joey Tempest - Vocals
John Norum - Guitars
John Leven – Bass Guitar
Mic Michaeli - Keyboards
Ian Haugland – Drums

Best known for their 1986 global classic rock anthem, The Final Countdown, the Swedish rockers received unanimous praise a heavier bluesy, hip-shaking metal sound. The new album, Bag of Bones, is produced by Kevin Shirley (Black Stone Cherry, Aerosmith, Black Country Communion, Joe Bonamassa, Led Zeppelin). Celebrated blues rock guitarist, Joe Bonamassa, makes a guest appearance on the title track, Bag of Bones.

Europe vocalist Joey Tempest believes that 2009’s Last Look At Eden album was a significant turning point for the band. That album proved to be Europe’s most important record since The Final Countdown. Now, with the highly anticipated release of Bag of Bones, Tempest says Europe is “ready to do some serious damage.”

LANCE KING
is world renowned in the underground as a melodic metal vocalist, singing on over 25 worldwide releases over the last 21 years. This fact is impressive in itself, but what is truly special about LANCE is his ability to morph his voice to fit any mood and intensity of a song, he's proved this over the years by adding a very "special something" to every album he has been a part of.

Today LANCE KING has launched his new official Facebook Fan Page. The page can viewed at this location:

On the last day of June, 2011 LANCE decided to invite some of his musical friends to co-write songs with him as he ventured into his first solo album. An act of faith only knowing their work, never working with them before in creating music. In just two months, those involved had created an epic masterpiece, quite a feat indeed based on the quality of this release.
In under three months, A Moment In Chiros was mixed and mastered and off to the presses, perhaps the fasted created music in history?  This album was meant to be out by 11/11/11 and is destined to stand the test of time.

Jacaranda is Trevor Rabin's first new solo project since his album Can't Look Away.
The extremely versatile Rabin covers a wide range of styles on the new album, including rock, jazz, and classical. Pink Cream 69 parts company with drummer

Kosta Zafiriou, drummer and original member of PINK CREAM 69 left the band. He will be replaced by his good friend and long time drum tech Chris Schmidt, who played drums for Sunstorm, Harry Hess’ First Signal and more.

Kosta: "It was a very hard decision to leave the band I co-founded back in 1987, but I am sure this is the right step. Due to my various activities with my company Bottom Row plus being the drummer and manager of my new band UNISONIC, more and more I felt I was retarding PC 69´s career. Chris is a great drummer and a good friend of the band since many years, which makes him the perfect match for PINK CREAM 69. I wish the guys only the best and look forward to see the first show with him - as a visitor, enjoying the songs that accompanied me half of my life!
The band already started recording the successor to the “In10sity” - album on the 1st of March.
The new, yet-untitled, effort will be released by Marquee/Avalon (Japan + SouthEast Asia) and Frontiers Records (rest of the world) in the autumn of 2012.

Says guitarist Alfred Koffler: “The vibe within the band is very enthusiastic and creative. There are far too many strong songs by Dennis (Ward), David (Readman) and myself to pick from. There will be eleven of them on the album plus a couple of bonus tracks for the different markets and formats. We also will have guest appearances by two famous musicians on the new record – both fans of the band. More on that soon!”
For the release of the new PINK CREAM 69 album, the band will also be shooting a new video clip – the first one since “Shame”.
The band will be appearing at several European festivals during the summer and will tour after the release of the album.
