Sonisphere Festival 2012!

Queen fronted by Adam Lambert headline Saturday night

With a quarter of a century having since passed, rock legends QUEEN are to return to play a second concert at the venue that provided them with the setting for one of their biggest and most historic concerts.
QUEEN’s Brian May and Roger Taylor have confirmed the band will headline the second day of SONISPHERE appearing on the APOLLO stage on Saturday July 7. KNEBWORTH was the setting for QUEEN’s final concert with Freddie Mercury in August 1986.

May and Taylor also confirmed that for this very special event they will be joined by US singer-songwriter ADAM LAMBERT.
The potent chemistry between QUEEN and Lambert broke the surface when at the invitation of Brian May and Roger Taylor, Lambert joined them for the closing showcase at the recent MTV Europe Awards where QUEEN were present to collect their Global Icon award.
Says Brian May: “Judging by my incoming mail, this decision will make a lot of people very happy. It’s a worthy challenge for us, and I’m sure Adam would meet with Freddie’s approval! And what better place to revisit, and walk those emotional paths than Knebworth? It will be a rush.”

Kiss to headline Friday night!

Shooting rockets. Blood spitting. Face Paint. Shiny Boots and utterly jaw dropping triumphant live shows: SONISPHERE is proud to announce KISS as Friday’s headliner. With a reputation for being perhaps the most flamboyant and entertaining band on the planet, the American Kings will bring their stage extravaganza to SONISPHERE as their only European performance of 2012. While many bands have been chasing the eye liner shock horror dollar and have come and gone without changing the face of music as we know it, KISS have gone from strength to strength garnering praise, success and too many accolades to mention throughout the years, selling over 100 million albums worldwide and counting as the band is poised to unleash new album ‘Monster’ in June 2012.

Says the band:
“You wanted the best, you got the best, the hottest band in the world, KISS”.
SONISPHERE festival is KISS’ invitation to have the best time of your life with long lost friends such as the anthemic ‘Rock N Roll All Night’, the jubilant singalong ‘I Was Made For Lovin’ You’ and the rallying cry of ‘God Gave Rock N Roll to You’. We would ask you to lock up your daughters, girlfriends and wives, but with Gene Simmons in town, it’s pretty clear there’s no stopping them. And if you can’t fight them, join them at their only European show of 2012.

Faith No More top of the bill Sunday!

For the final, Sunday night, SONISPHERE KNEBWORTH is proud to announce the legendary FAITH NO MORE as the headline act on the APOLLO stage.
Onstage irreverent, uncompromising, unpredictable and dazzling at every turn, FNM have been setting new standards in exciting rock performance for more than two decades now. With classics such as ‘Falling To Pieces’, ‘Epic’, ‘Midlife Crisis’ and ‘Be Aggressive’, Mike Bordin, Roddy Bottum, Bill Gould, Jon Hudson and Mike Patton are poised to set KNEBWORTH on fire when they close the last night at SONISPHERE with their only UK appearance of 2012. Says bassplayer Billy Gould:
“It was over 2 years ago when we decided to reform and play those amazing UK shows. The good news is, we’ve had a couple of years to improve our skills; moving our song to error ratio down 3.5 full percentage points. Watch out UK, we’re going to do it right this time!!”

Alice Cooper ready to take 2012 by storm!

With a music career that started over 40 years ago, the legendary Alice Cooper is always current and in the forefront of entertainment. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, who created the concept of the theatrical rock concert, brings his spectacular stagecraft and flamboyant showmanship to this year’s Bonnaroo Festival June 9th alongside other headline artists Radiohead, Bon Iver, Red Hot Chili Peppers and more. Alice Cooper, who single-handedly masterminded the rock-horror genre, then joins Iron Maiden as their very special guest on their MAIDEN ENGLAND North American Tour from June 21 to July 21.

Said Alice, "I'm very excited that Iron Maiden has asked us to share the stage with them in North America. The last few summers we performed on some Maiden shows, and my band and I and the audiences all had a great time. Both of us on one bill provides the audience with two entirely different shows, and some of Maiden's fans may have never seen my show live, so believe me we're BRINGING IT!"

When it comes to touring, Cooper provides his fans with a visual and aural extravaganza including everything and more from his trademark guillotines, decapitations, predatory snakes, as well as a non-stop, hard rocking show featuring his classic hits, and other fan favorites.
Alice Cooper’s 2011 album, Welcome 2 My Nightmare, which debuted at #22 on Billboard’s Top 200, is a testament to Cooper’s ability to incorporate various collaborations - including global pop superstar Ke$ha - into his own unique musical style.

Alice Cooper’s Welcome 2 My Nightmare is the long-awaited sequel to his 1975 classic Welcome to My Nightmare. The original album was a landmark album for Cooper. It was his first solo release, following a historic string of anthems written and recorded by his original band between 1971 and 1974, including “School’s Out,” “No More Mr. Nice Guy,” “Elected,” and “I’m Eighteen.” Welcome to My Nightmare is an all-time rock classic that spawned a worldwide theatrical tour and pioneered a U.S. TV special, and certified Alice Cooper as a visionary trailblazer, whose influence continues today in rock, metal, pop, punk, theatre, television, film and much more.

Earlier this week, Cooper announced the nominees for Revolver Magazine's Golden God Awards in Los Angeles. Last year, Cooper received Revolver’s “Golden God” award, a special recognition given to one special artist each year who represents metal and hard rock.

Before Alice embarks on tour, he sits down with VH1’s That Metal Show’s Eddie Trunk for a one-on- one conversation about his legacy as well and his current album and tour, air date TBC.
Alice is also the host of Nights with Alice Cooper, a 5-hour nightly radio show offering listeners a block of classic rock music, features and interviews delivered to affiliates via satellite six nights per week. The show debuted in January 2004 and is now in its 9th year on the air. Nights with Alice Cooper is a production of the United Stations Radio Network and is broadcast on more than 110 stations in the U.S., Canada, the UK and Australia, and is also supported by an active social network of Alice’s “Minions,” who participate along with Alice and the radio show via Facebook and Twitter.

ZEROKING IS SET ON SELF DESTRUCTION

(Huntington, WVa - 20 February 2012) Rising West Virginia hard rockers, Zeroking have just released their first full length album (and third effort overall), Kings of Self Destruction via new upstart label, Vanity Music Group.
Equal parts classic metal ala Guns N' Roses and Motley Crue and modern hard rock in the vein of Hinder and Buckcherry, Kings Of Self Destruction covers all the bases. Kicking off with the slamming, "Dead Rockstar", the band tears through an hour's worth of material, including the hook laden first single, "Stone Cold Bitch", the southern rock flavoured, "Southern Lady X Godiva", the pop oriented, "Love Is Dead" (which features Stacee Lawson on a duet) and the melancholic "Valentine."
13 songs in total, the digital version of Kings of Self Destruction also features an additional 3 bonus tracks.
"The album really takes the listener on a journey through a wide range of emotions," says Zeroking frontman, Andy Haught. "A lot happened in all our lives during the writing process ranging from divorces to the band literally self destructing but in the end,we had a strong batch of songs that rock really hard yet show our wide spectrum of influences."

Formed in 2005, Zeroking has become a top drawing act in the Mid Atlantic region, sharing the stage with the likes of Anthrax, Twisted Sister, Bobaflex, Dope, Black Stone Cherry and many, many other acts. The band released an EP, 'Sweet Sale Of Excess' in 2006 to critical and fan praise. Entering the studio in the summer of 2009, they began work on Kings of Self Destruction with producer, Steve Riley.
Zeroking is comprised of: Andy Haught - Lead Vocals, Shane Day - Guitars, Paul "JP" First - Bass and Christopher Webb - Drums.
Kings of Self Destruction is in stores and can be found on iTunes at: http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/kings-of-self-destruction/id502939415
