ACE FREHLEY - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ACE FREHLEY TO RELEASE ‘BEHIND THE PLAYER’ DVD WORLDWIDE JANUARY 19TH

LOS ANGELES – Legendary KISS guitarist Ace Frehley will release ‘ Behind the Player’ a retrospective DVD chronicling his work as one of the world’s most influential guitar players. The DVD will be released worldwide January 19th, through IMV, Rocket Science Ventures and Sony/RED.

The DVD features the iconic Spaceman talking about his life as a guitar player, including rare photos and video footage. Ace also gives in depth lessons for his KISS classics “Shock Me” and “Cold Gin.” The DVD includes an all-star jam session of Ace playing with George Lynch, John 5, Matt Sorum, Chris Wyse and Tommy Clufetos. Frehley says, “I haven’t done anything like this before, but liked what they were doing with the Behind The Player series. Jamming the tracks with the guys was a lot of fun.”

Ace Frehley Behind The Player will be available January 19th at music retailers and for digital download everywhere.

In September, Frehley released his first solo album in nearly 20 years, Anomaly, which debuted top 30 on Billboard 200. Ace is currently on tour in Europe, and will be heading off to Australia in early 2010.

Def Leppard to get Animated, no, not Animalized!

Well, found this one hard to believe myself, but it's posted on Rueters news agency site no less ...?

It seems their recently negotiated new deal with music publishers Primary Wave, has opened another marketing ploy for the band!
It seems a cartoon TV show is on the cards ...
I guess if this is for real, I could've given the headline as, "Def Leppard follows Kiss path shock!"
Read it for yourselves here:

Foo Fighter and Crooked Vulture man Dave Grohl says more Vulture music planned

Grohl claims that Them Crooked Vultures, his band featuring Queens Of The Stone Age’s Josh Homme and Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones, is a long term project.
The story was posted on the BBC's website this morning:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/hi/music/newsid_10000000/newsid_10003500/10003590.stm

The 'oddly(?)' mixed supergroup released their self-titled debut album in November to much applause from fans and media alike.
He sees no reason why Foo Fighters and Them Crooked Vultures, can't run side by side, as he went on to say, “I wouldn’t want to stop doing it - it’s a fun band to be in.”
Let's see what comes next!

Well, really not too much else floating around today to share, if anything of note comes up today later though, I will share it as a fresh update. :)

One final thing, different area altogether but very tragic news from Hollywood in the death of young actress Brittany Murphy aged just 32.
Another starlet, well, she was already more than that with a long string of movies to her name.
Tragic loss indeed of such a great young talent.
Many news sites have covered it, but here's just one story on the BBC.

Sympathies and thoughts go out to her family.
